NORDC: Abuse of power intimidation and Bullying examples;
\n<\/u>Bullying examples 1<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

From day one, Casa Samba has been bullied NORDC since 2003 under the direction of Larry Barabino<\/strong><\/span> NORDC commandeered the (aka) KUJI CENTER building that was for the community of the St. Thomas housing project which had been funded by both St. Thomas housing project the state a Louisiana.\u00a0 Casa Samba was still operating and having classes for the community children without any assistance from anyone. The administration of the KUJI CENTER had given me permission to occupy the building as long as I continue to follow the guidelines in order to maintain the service agreement that was signed by the city officials.\u00a0 you will see in this photo [popuppress id=”191″]<\/p>\n

The first incident was when Mr. Barabino the director of NORDC mentioned to me he was going to have a personal event at the center for the upcoming holiday which was a Sunday.\u00a0 During my Sunday class hours.\u00a0 After working out the situation for him to arrive at 12 PM he did not arrive until 12:30 PM so I continued to teach my class when Mr. Bambino entered the building, he asked me to accompany him to his office for a one-on-one conversation.<\/p>\n

After closing the door abruptly, Mr. Barabino alone verbally assaulted me by saying\u00a0 ” LOOK the next time I’\u00a0 give you a specific time to stop something it needs to be done” at THAT time!….. Mr. Barabino was standing 2 feet away from me while speaking to me. A perfect example of an individual placing themselves in a BAD position.<\/p>\n

Because I had no prior relationship with Mr. Barabino, I actually felt threatened at that time. I was able to hold my composure and respond to Mr. Barabino in a firm but polite manner letting him know that he was not my employer nor do I work for NORDC. I ended the conversation by leaving Mr. Barabino’s office. This is actually when the relationship with NORDC started to dwindle.<\/p>\n

There was a lifetime CEA\u00a0 agreement already set in place on this building (

Casa Samba was forced to give up the keys and we\u2019re not permitted to enter the building if it wasn\u2019t under the operating hours of NORDC<\/p>\n

Without any reasoning our explanation these orders were given on a taken it or get out basis without any negotiation.<\/p>\n

Bullying – Is this the way City Officials talk to its Community Partners?<\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/u><\/u>Meeting with Vic Richard [popuppress id=”185″]<\/p>\n

We were bullied by Mr. Vick<\/strong> <\/span>March 29, 2013, 2 PM On April 29, 2013, we were called to meeting with Victor Richard and Program Director, Shawn C. Wyatt to discuss program and restructuring of the Annunciation Center facility. We discussed the possibilities of the CEA and Casa Samba to present a budget to NORD that would cover our operational expenses.\u00a0 We were then told that the decision was final and that we were to vacate the facility by June 3, 2013, with no further discussion. I then asked if NORD had informed the community of this move. He stated that I could to go and talk to the community, the NORDC commission, the city council members or whomever, but his decision was final.
\nMr. Richards then offered us the opportunity of buying a firehouse specifically, the Keller Center in Central City. But when I attended the NORDC meeting that night May 7th<\/sup>, there was a gentleman who represented the Keller Center and was concerned about why the Keller Center wasn\u2019t being renovated when Lyons and Treme Center was. It seems strange how Mr. Vic could offer to sell Casa Samba a center that was currently occupied by another community group. This is very confusing.
\nWe were told that we were leaving the Annunciation building because of renovations to St. Bernard when at no time we\u2019re presented with the return date. After we contacted our Councilwoman Latoya Cantrell to assist us in securing a return date to Annunciation Center.<\/p>\n

Bullying examples 3<\/strong>
\n<\/u>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On several occasions, I had to assist the buildings Manager at closing in order to take photos of the thermostat. Assistant director of NORDC\u00a0 Mary Jo Webster<\/strong><\/span> had recommended her for not having the temperature gauge on thermostat stay at the same temperature as it was the day before. Mary Jo Webster<\/u><\/em> threatened the building manager Miss Louise that she would be suspended indefinitely if this incident continued. In order to assist, I had to take photos of the building manager taking photos of the temperature before we left the building on a weekly basis. this lasted for at least three to four weeks.<\/p>\n

<\/u>The bullying situation seems to be contagious as this happened years ago in the past weeks Casa Samba has been receiving these aggressive emails about information on my classes Casa Samba has an email. (The for complete email details

\nNORDC communication breakdown. I received a Harsh email from Miss Woodfox who want information on my Classes ASAP. Why does it take 10 years to do something correctly because that\u2019s how long I have been submitting our\u00a0Schedule And it has changed very little in the past 10? Casa Samba sent an email to NORDC 09\/14\/07 at 9:26 AM<\/p>\n

A copy of the schedule I sent NORDC 10 years ago and a copy of the scheduled lessons in 2017 the schedule is still not correct.<\/u><\/strong>
