This option has never been offered to Casa Samba after over 20 solid years of free services. Just in that same 5 years, Casa Samba has donated over $528,600.00 in services to

NORDC. This is number is based on the FitNola pay scale for instructors at $50 per hour. Actually, the cost would be tripled if we used our professional fees for services rendered.

The incident with the black history program. The culture department gave permission to a non-NORDC employee To distribute funds to NORDC partners for a black history program that was going to be held at the Annunciation center. The annunciation center is where casa samba holds all of their classes.

At the time this person Andrea whom NORDC put in charge of this a the NORDC Black History program.

Miss Andrea contacted all of the people that she felt was necessary to do the black history program at the annunciation center and I was not included in this selection. This person Andrea was also allowed to negotiate NORDC funds to its partners she was given the power basically to pay people for their participation in the black history program Funded by NORDC.

Basically, NORDC let someone come in who is only been with NORDC for about 3 to 4 months was successfully in denial of these funds for Casa Samba. We wonder how many other new partners or distributing funding why is Casa Samba not involved in this.

The money wasn’t much but it was the principle of not involving Casa Samba In a black history program at the place where they have held classes for over.

[popuppress id=”273″] [popuppress id=”275″] [popuppress id=”277″] [popuppress id=”278″]

29 years this was very derogatory to me Curtis Pierre as a black man not being included in a black history program after donating his time and services to the city four years but not being included when funds are being issued

*************************************************************

Misappropriation of NORDC Funds by their employee Part II

September issue 2017 Hispanic program

We are not sure how much money was invested into this event but we feel that this money could have been spent better with more involvement of your Community partners who live in the area that you’re having an event at.

September there was a Hispanic program during the time of Cinco de Mayo. This event was held at the Annunciation center where Casa Samba has their classes. Although we have done at least 10 Hispanic programs for NORDC in the past for free we were not asked to do this one.

The day of the event which was a Saturday and we had class on this particular day. NORDC brought out the stage set up all the speakers but not very many Community members showed up although it rained that day it rain about and a half an hour after the event started.

If we could have been in the process of putting this event together we could have helped in the promotion of this event so there was more of the community presence at this event

If there was better communication we would have been glad to perform at the event if someone would have approached us. On the day of the event, Casa Samba was already there and the kids were inquiring about what was going on and if they would be involved or performing.

I told them that we were not invited to be a part of the program although some of the children had already seen that Casa Samba’s Picture was used to promote the event this is why they were also confused because they thought they would be performing for the event that day.

Miss LaDonya arrived in the building on September Saturday the 16th 2017 prior to the beginning of the Hispanic program during the time of Cinco de Mayo.

Miss Ladonya entered the building around 12 noon-ish and not once exchange words with me as I actually watched her walk into the women’s restroom while she entered the restroom she looks directly into the multipurpose room and continues to walk to the restroom after leaving the restroom she did not speak with me for one minute

In the past Casa Samba has been requested to perform at this event without any funding for several years supporting NORDC events held at the Annunciation center where Casa Samba has their classes. [popuppress id=”303″]

If we had communicated I could’ve gotten the kids ready instantly although we were not scheduled to perform Casa Samba could’ve brought some success to the event. We had at least 20 kids ready to perform a bit before the rain came down. Casa Samba could have done the event if we had a better relationship and communicated with NORDC representatives and employees

Misappropriation of NORDC Funds by their NON-employees Part I February issue 2017 Black History Program To have funds from NORDC issued by a non-partner and non-employee of NORDC and has been enrolled as a dance instructor for NORDC for possibly 2 to 3 months The NORDC cultural department has decided to give this person the […]
